Professional Degrees
Bachelor of Fine Arts
The Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) is a professional program in studio art. It provides the necessary background for students interested in art careers or in graduate study. Two majors are available: Graphic Design/Illustration, or Studio Art with concentrations in ceramics, drawing, fiber-fabric, painting, printmaking, sculpture, watercolor and inter-area. Since the B.F.A. degree is intended for students with a refined educational focus, you should note that all candidates must pass a portfolio review within their primary area of concentration prior to enrollment in junior-level studio courses.

Bachelor of Science in Chemistry
Students who desire to major in Chemistry may choose from two courses of study: the Bachelor of Science with a major in Chemistry or the Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. These two courses of study are designed for students with different career goals.
If your career objective is in a field other than chemistry, such as medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, business, or ecology, the more flexible regular Bachelor of Science is a good option. With course choices in physics, mathematics, and physical chemistry, the regular Bachelor of Science is appropriate if you intend to make a career in a field that requires a general knowledge of chemistry.
If your career objectives are more closely related to chemistry, however, the B.S. in Chemistry may be your best choice. The B.S. in Chemistry program is approved by the Committee on Professional Training of the American Chemical Society. This program would train you either to immediately enter the chemical industry, or to enter graduate study leading to a position in research and college teaching.
